2009: Sam Auge continued to train with Nebraska, but did not compete for the Huskers during the 2009 season.

2008: Auge redshirted during his freshman season.

Prior: A former Junior Olympics national qualifier and Minnesota state champion, Auge, came to Nebraska as a standout from Midwest Gymnastics Academy in Anoka, Minn. He finished 37th in the Level-10 All-Around division at the 2006 Junior Olympic National Championships, including top-20 event finishes on floor exercise (19th) and parallel bars (20th). Under coaches Kyle Zak and Frank Ticknor, Auge was the 2005 Minnesota state all-around champion. He was also the 2005 and 2006 state floor champion and 2006 regional floor champion. Midwest Gymnastics Academy previously produced Husker junior Tony Maras.

Personal: Sam was born on Oct. 5, 1988, to Thomas and Sherry Auge in St. Paul, Minn. A 2007 Mahtomedi High School graduate, Sam has two brothers, Kier, 24, and Travis, 20. Sam is a secondary education major at Nebraska.
