2007: Named co-captain of the 2007 team, Jon Charter competed consistently on the floor exercise for the Huskers in his final season. Charter showed improvement throughout the season, improving his floor score for three consecutive weeks to end the regular season with a career best of 8.70. Charter bettered that score one more time in the final floor routine of his career, posting a mark fo 8.75 at the NCAA Championships in State College, Pa.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

 

2006: Charter made his collegiate debut for <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska at the Rocky Mountain Open on Jan. 13 with a score of 7.75 on the floor exercise. Overall, Charter competed in four meets on the floor during the season, earning a career-high mark of 8.65 in the event against Air Force on March 19.

 

2005:  A transfer from SpringfieldCollege, Charter did not compete during his sophomore season at Nebraska.

 

Prior:  Charter, a native of Fort Myers, Fla., joined the Huskers after training for several years at Tim Daggett Gold Medal Gymnastics under coaches Tim Daggett and Lorenzo Macaluso, while attending SpringfieldCollege.

 

Personal:  Jon Charter was born April 29, 1983 in Manchester, Conn., to Barbara and Harvey Charter. He has two older brothers, Paul, 31, and Matt, 28, and is a communication studies major at Nebraska.
