Schlesinger is one of the greatest gymnasts in Nebraska history. During his senior season, he held the high score in five events for Nebraska, including his career high 57.80 score in the All-Around. Schlesinger exceled in the gym and in the classroom. He earned NCAA All-American awards seven times throughout his career and went on to capture a spot on the 1988 Olympic Team as the United States' top alternate.
