Martin also excelled in the classroom earning Academic All-Big Ten honors and two spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

After suffering a season-ending injury in 2017, Martin bounced back and had an impressive 2018 season by posting a career best (14.50) on vault. Martin competed in nine meets on pommel horse and seven meets on vault. Martin posted a 13.60 on pommel horse and also competed on still rings at the NCAA Championships, helping the Huskers to a fifth-place finish.
Outside of the gym, Martin continued to make an impact as an Academic All-Big Ten honoree in 2018.

2017 (Freshman)
Martin suffered a season-ending injury early and was forced to take a medical redshirt in his first season at Nebraska. Prior to the injury, Martin was dynamic on vault for the Huskers in the first three meets of the season. He scored at least 14.00 each time and notched a season-high score of 14.10 twice.
Despite not being able to impact the team in the gym, Martin was impressive in the classroom and in the community for the Huskers, earning spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2016-17. He also was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2017.
