1996: Senior Season
Jason Christie capped off an incredible senior season at the NCAA Championships, earning All-America honors in the parallel bars and horizontal bar. Christie finished fifth on the parallel bars (9.650) and sixth on the high bar (9.775). He also placed 10th all-around with a score of 56.600. At the West Regionals, Christie competed in every event, earning him eighth in the all-around. Christie's best finish came in the parallel bars where he posted a score of 9.775, earning him second place. He also competed in floor exercise (seventh), pommel horse (30th), still rings (14th), vault (29th) and high bar (12th). At the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation meet, Christie posted top-10 finishes in vault, parallel bar, high bar and the all-around. Christie's best finish came in the parallel bars with a second-place performance and a score of 9.6375. He earned a sixth-place finish in the vault (9.075) and a fourth-place finish in the high bar (9.775). Christie's solid performance in all of his events earned him a fourth-place finish in the all-around. In addition to Christie's All-America honors, he was also named as a finalist for the Nissen-Emery Award, honoring the nation's top men's gymnast. Christie also starred in the classroom, capturing third-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. He also was named to the Big Eight End-of-the-Year Honor Roll.
1995: Junior Season
At the 1995 NCAA Championships team finals, Christie posted his career-best all-around score of 57.775 to help NU to a runner-up team finish. In addition, Christie posted a career best on still rings (9.725) and equalled his career best on floor exercise (9.80) during the team finals. His 57.30 all-around mark during the team qualifying round, earned ninth place. He reached the individual event finals on the horizontal bar, where he placed 10th. At the NCAA West Regional, Christie claimed fifth place in the all-around (56.85), tied for fourth on the high bar (9.75) and tied for fifth on the floor exercise (9.65) to help NU earn its 18th consecutive bid to the NCAA Championships. At the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, Christie tied for first place on the parallel bars with a career-best 9.825, tied for fourth on the high bar (9.725) and tied for fifth on the floor (9.55). At the same meet, Christie claimed runner-up honors on the horizontal bar with a season-best-tying 9.85. He also earned the runner-up spot on the parallel bars (9.75) and pommel horse (9.60). Christie claimed third place in the all-around (57.05) in a dual against Minnesota. He garnered three first-place finishes against the Golden Gophers. Christie tied with teammates Richard Grace, Donald Kinison and Rick Keifer for first on the floor exercise (9.70), won the parallel bars with a then-career-best 9.775 and captured the horizontal bar (9.825). Christie tied with three others for the horizontal bar top spot at the Gold's Challenge, in Santa Barbara, Calif., with a 9.80. At Ohio State, Christie claimed second place on the floor exercise (9.65) and tied for third on the parallel bars (9.65). He was a National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches Scholastic All-American and was named to the 1995 Big Eight End-of-the-Year Honor Roll.
1994: Sophomore Season
One of the Huskers' most consistent gymnasts, Christie garnered the 13th all-around spot at the NCAA Championships with a score of 56.30. At the NCAA West Regional, Christie won the horizontal bar with a career-best 9.925, while finishing sixth in the all-around (56.925) and seventh on the parallel bars (9.55). At the Big Eight Championships, he scored a career-best 57.25 to finish fourth in the all-around. He also won the horizontal bar (9.80), placed second on the floor with a career-best 9.80 and finished fifth on the rings (9.55). Christie posted then-career-bests on rings (9.675) and parallel bars (9.725) at the NCAA Championship team finals to help NU capture its eighth national title. At the Big Eight Triangular, Christie won three individual events (all-around-55.975, parallel bars and horizontal bar). He was named to the Phillips 66 Academic All-Big Eight Honor Roll for the second consecutive year. Christie bettered his career-best all-around score four times during the season.
1993: Freshman Season
The youngster of the Husker crew made his presence felt at the NCAA West Regional with a season-high 9.60 on the parallel bars. Christie also scored a 9.65 on the pommel horse, second-best on the squad to Dennis Harrison's 9.725. Christie won the high bar with a 9.65 and placed third on the pommel horse with a 9.65, at the Big Eight Triangular. He finished ninth at the Winter Nationals to earn a slot on the U.S. Senior National Team.
Prior:
Christie entered the Nebraska program as a 15-time Nebraska High School Champion, a six-time USGF State All-Around Champion, a five-time USGF Region IV all-around champion and an eight-time member of the U.S. Junior National Team. A Nebraska School of Gymnastics product, Christie was coached by Chuck Chmelka since he started competing.

The son of Ted and Kathy Christie, Jason was born, along with twin sister Jenny, on Dec. 5, 1973, in Denver, Colo. The electrical engineering student has one other sister, Tanya.
