Andrew Podany Season 2005-06

2005 Outlook:  As a freshman, Andrew (Drew) Podany is expected to make several appearances for the Huskers.  Coach Francis Allen has been impressed with Podany’s talent for the pommel horse and plans to use him often in that event.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

“Drew has had some great workouts on the horse,” Allen said.  “We hope that he’ll just keep progressing through the season and provide some depth for us.”

 

Prior:  A native of <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Papillion, Neb., Podany joins the Huskers after competing for Papillion-LaVista high school where he trained under Coach Scott Zymbol.  Podany is a two-time high school All-American,  has earned three club titles in the vault, floor exercise and still rings, and was a national qualifier in the all-around.

 

Personal:  Andrew Podany is the son of Steve and Carol Podany.  He was born Feb. 20, 1986 and has two sisters, Liz, 20, and CJ, 15.  Podany is a buisness administration major.
