2025 (Senior)
Senior Chris Hiser capped off his career by earning first-team All-America honors on still rings during the NCAA Championships. Hiser also put up a career high of 13.30 on the floor at the NCAA qualifying meet and a new career high of 14.35 on still rings during the Michigan meet. At the Big Ten Finals, he claimed the bronze medal on still rings and was a CGA Regular Season All-American. During the regular season, he captured three still rings titles, bringing his career total to seven, which ranks fifth all-time in Husker history in the event.
Hiser’s season was highlighted by an individual title at NU’s season-opening tri-meet and participation in the NCAA Qualifiers. He competed on still rings at every meet except the Big Ten Individual Finals. His season-best score was 14.20 during Nebraska’s defeat of Illinois. Hiser also competed once on the floor at the Rocky Mountain Open, scoring 13.20.
Outside the gym, Hiser was a Tom Osborne Citizenship Team member for the fourth consecutive year.
2024 (Junior)
Hiser’s season was highlighted by an individual title at NU’s season-opening tri-meet, while he also competed at the NCAA Qualifiers.
Outside of the gym, Hiser was named to the Academic All-Big Ten and Tom Osborne Citizenship teams.
2023 (Sophomore)
Coming off a stellar freshman campaign, Chris Hiser continued his success with three individual titles on rings. He earned CGA Regular-Season All-American honors and qualified for the NCAA Team Finals on floor and rings. Hiser set three career bests with a 14.45 on floor, a 14.30 on rings and a 14.05 on vault.
Hiser earned a plethora of awards outisde the gym, including: the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award, CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-Big Ten. He was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team, while earning a Nebraska Silver Academic Medallion for his hard work in the classroom.
2022 (Freshman)
The 2022 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Hiser, earned three Big Ten Freshman of the Week titles during the 2022 season after setting his two career-highs of 14.25 on floor and 12.45 on rings.
Outside of the gym, Hiser was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for his dedication in the classroom, and earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship team for his contribution to the community.
Before Nebraska
Chris Hiser trained at Daggett Gymnastics in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. He competed at the 2021 Men's Development Program National Championships where he finished fourth on rings, fifth on vault and seventh on floor. Hiser competed at the 2020 Elite Team Cup finishing in second. At the 2019 Junior Olympic National Championships, Hiser finished third on floor, seventh in the all-around, rings and vault. At the 2018 Junior Olympic National Championships, he finished first on rings, and 10th in the all-around.
Personal
Chris is the son of MiMi and Bill Hiser. He has an older brother, Will, and a younger brother, Joseph. A nutrition and health sciences major, Chris earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May 2025.
