Back for his second season working with the Husker basketball program, Eric Colbert will again serve as a team manager/player development for the 2007-08 campaign.
Over the past year, Colbert has attended to administrative duties within the basketball office and served the Huskers as a mentor for student-athletes, specifically assisting with their academic progress. He also has provided oversight of the Huskers’ student manager staff.
A 2001 graduate of HumboldtStateUniversity with a degree in English, Colbert spent three years working with Advanced Student Connection in Sacramento, Calif. He was a program facilitator with the non-profit organization, assisting with complete player development in the after-school program for high school athletes.
Colbert assisted with off-season workouts and conditioning as well as monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress through the counseling and tutoring programs. Colbert also coached at the center and helped organize and promote a yearly celebrity charity basketball game.
Colbert played basketball two seasons at HumboldtStateUniversity, lettering in 1998 and 2000. He previously played two years at ComptonCommunity College in his hometown of Los Angeles. Colbert also competed on the basketball court as a prep at Verbum Dei High School, one of the strongest high school programs in the state of California.
