2022-23 (Senior)
The first half of Kaitlyn Barth's senior season was highlighted by an impressive third-place finish in the 100 butterfly (54.65) at the Hawkeye Invitational, Dec. 2. With her top finish, Barth cut off over two seconds from her previous season-best. In the Iowa and Omaha duals, Barth added a pair of 100 butterfly top-five finishes, clocking a 58.25 against the Mavs to finish fourth and a 59.15 against the Hawkeyes to take fifth. Barth pitched in a fifth-place effort in the 50 freestyle with a 25.94 during Nebraska's season-opening dual victory over South Dakota State. With a 25.00, Barth finished fourth in the event against Iowa on Oct. 21.

Barth closed out the regular season by placing fourth in the 100 butterfly at Rutgers (55.26) and sixth against Illinois (56.31). At the Big Ten Championships, Barth finished 27th in the 100 butterfly (54.97), 46th in the 50 freestyle (23.60) and 52nd in the 100 freestyle (52.14).

2021-22 (Junior)
As one of Nebraska’s top sprint freestylers, Barth continued to improve and contribute during her junior campaign. She began the season at the South Dakota State dual (Oct.2), where she swam to a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle and finished fourth in the 100 butterfly. The junior from Madison, Wis. followed that up with a first-place relay finish in the 400 freestyle relay and an individual fifth place in the 100 freestyle in the dual against Iowa (Oct. 23).

At the Mizzou Invitational (Nov. 17-19), Barth contributed big points with a fifth-place finish in the 100 butterfly (55.45). She added top-25 finishes in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle on the invite. The conclusion of dual season was highlighted by a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly (55.97) against Rutgers. At the Big Ten Championships, Barth notched career-best times in the 50 freestyle (23.40) and the 100 freestyle (51.71).

2020-21 (Sophomore)
Barth contributed to the Huskers’ best point total in history at the Big Ten Championships by swimming a leg of the 200 freestyle relay. She posted a season-best 23.68 to finish 49th in the prelims of the 50 free at the Big Ten Swimming Championships in Minneapolis (Feb. 24). She swam to a career-best time of 51.98 to finish 60th in the 100 free at the Big Ten meet, while also posting a career-best time of 54.18 in the 100 butterfly in a time trial on the final day of the conference meet.

2019-20 (Freshman)
Barth was an immediate contributor for the Huskers in the sprint freestyle events and the 100-yard butterfly as a freshman in 2019-20. The high school All-American capped her first collegiate season with a season-best 54.67 in the 100 fly at the Big Ten Championships to finish 29th. She added a career-best 23.58 in the 50 free to take 57th at the conference meet. Barth also produced a season-best 52.11 in the 100 free at the Big Ten Championships. She was also a member of Nebraska’s 200 free relay at the Big Ten meet. During the season, she notched seven top-five showings, including a trio of third-place finishes. In the classroom, Barth earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2019-20.

Before Nebraska
Barth came to Nebraska after competing for Coach Emily Schwabe at Edgewood High School. Barth helped Edgewood to four consecutive state championships. She was a three-time Wisconsin state record holder and a four-time Edgewood High School record holder. Barth was a six-time state champion. She was awarded All-State (2015-18) and All-America honors (2016-17). She also earned a WIAA Scholar Athlete Award, Farley Athletic Award, Zach Parkin Outstanding Swimmer Award and the Most Valuable Player Award.  In the classroom, Barth earned Academic Excellence (3.9+GPA), High Honors (3.75+GPA) and was a member of La Sociadad Honoraria, Edgewood Honor Society, National Honor Society. Barth also competed in track and field, capturing a 2018 state title as a member of the 4x800 relay. She was also a member of the state runner-up 4x800 relay team in 2017, after her 4x400 relay team finished sixth at state in 2016. She earned Sophomore and Junior Achievement Awards. Barth competed for Madison Aquatic Club along with former Husker Rachel Powers for Coach Shane Ryan. Barth was a member of the 2019 Wisconsin State Champions (SCY) and was a four-time Wisconsin state relay record holder, 2015 USA Junior National Qualifier, and qualified for NCSA Junior Nationals from 2014 to 2019.

Personal 
The daughter of Stephanie and Scott Barth, Kaitlyn was born Feb. 1, 2001, in Madison, Wis. She has a sister, Allyson, and a brother, Joshua. A nutrition and health sciences major, Kaitlyn earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2023. A Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and three-time Academic All-Big Ten choice, Barth was an eight-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and a four-time selection for the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She also earned the prestigious Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award in 2023. She chose Nebraska over Iowa, Miami (Ohio) and Wisconsin.
