2019-20 (Senior)
A solid four-year contributor in and out of the pool for Nebraska, Lindsey Stalheim closed her career as one of the Huskers' top butterfly and backstroke swimmers as a senior in 2019-20. The Omahan capped her career by finishing 38th in the the 200 back with a career-best time of 2:00.30 at the 2020 Big Ten Championships. Earlier at the conference meet, she raced to a career-best 55.75 to finish 34th in the 100 back. She added a 45th-place finish in the 100 fly (55.99) at the Big Ten Championships. During the course of the season, Stalheim captured 12 top-five finishes, including four victories. She notched a pair of wins in the 100 back in team dual victories over South Dakota State and Omaha. She also captured wins in the 200 back and the 100 fly in the victory over Omaha. In the classroom, Stalheim was a 2020 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and claimed academic All-Big Ten honors for the third consecutive season.
2018-19 (Junior)
Stalheim concluded her junior campaign with seven top-five finishes, including a runner-up performance with a then-career-best 2:00.43 in the 200 back at the Last Chance Meet. She also clocked a career best in the 100 free (51.78). At Iowa State, the Omahan produced a pair of fourth-places finishes in the 100 and 200 back. Stalheim had a solid performance at the Hawkeye Invite, placing in the top 24 in the 100 back (12th), 100 fly (13th) and 200 back (20th). She added a career best during her exhibition race in the 200 fly (2:08.58). At the 2019 Big Ten Championships, Stalheim posted career bests with 34th-place finishes in the 100 fly and 200 back, while adding a 47th-place finish in the 100 back. She earned academic All-Big Ten team accolades and a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
2017-18 (Sophomore)
Stalheim claimed two top-five finishes, including a runner-up finish in the 200 fly (2:11.97) against Omaha. She captured four then-career bests at the Mizzou Invite in the 100 back (55.84), 200 back (2:01.57), 100 fly (56.50) and 200 fly (2:09.24). At the 2018 Big Ten Championships, Stalheim competed in the 100 back (47th), 200 back (47th) and 100 fly (55th). She earned academic All-Big Ten honors as and was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
2016-17 (Freshman)
Stalheim recorded five top-five finishes across six events as a freshman for the Huskers in 2016-17. She had a solid performance in Nebraska’s dual victory over South Dakota State, taking fourth in both the 200 back (2:13.09) and 200 fly (2:16.85). At the 2017 Big Ten Championships, Stalheim produced a then-career best in the 200 back (2:02.01). She also competed in the 100 back (56.41) and the 100 fly (58.19). Stalheim found success in the classroom as well, earning spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters. She was a member of the 2017 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
Previous
Stalheim was named Millard West High School’s most valuable swimmer in both 2014 and 2016. She aided Millard West in capturing a fourth-place finish at the Nebraska High School Championships. In 2014 and 2015, Stalheim earned the Metro Swimming Conference All-American Award and the Midwestern Swimming Academic Award. A four-time academic letterwinner, Stalheim was also a member of All-State Orchestra in 2013.
Personal
The daughter of Marian and Marshall Stalheim, Lindsey was born July 21, 1997 in Omaha, Neb. Lindsey has two sisters, Sarah and Carley, as well as three brothers, Nick, Dylan and Jordan. Lindsey is majoring in nutrition and health sciences at Nebraska and was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2020. She is a three-time academic All-Big Ten selection and has earned eight appearances on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She is a four-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She chose Nebraska over Drury and Northern Iowa.
