Mira Rhodes

2020-21 (Senior)
Mira Rhodes completed her Husker swimming career by competing in three events for Nebraska at the 2021 Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis. Rhodes finished 56th in the 200 fly (2:11.69), 58th in the 100 back (1:01.05) and 68th in the 100 fly (59.92) at the conference meet.

During an abbreviated regular season, Rhodes also competed in the 100 back and 100 fly in a season-opening dual at Iowa (Jan. 16), before competing in both events a week later in Nebraska's Senior Day dual with Illinois in Lincoln (Jan. 23). She also swam the 100 and 200 fly events in a tri-dual at Minnesota with Iowa (Feb. 6). 

2019-20 (Junior)
A regular for Nebraska in the butterfly events throughout 2019-20, Rhodes competed in three individual events at the 2020 Big Ten Championships. She swam to a career-best 58.32 to finish 63rd in the 100 fly at the conference meet. She finished 54th in the 200 fly (2:10.27) while adding a career-best 1:00.73 to take 59th in the 100 backstroke at the Big Ten Championships. She picked up a pair of top-five finishes during the season. In the classroom, Rhodes also captured Academic All-Big Ten honors for the second straight season. 

2018-19 (sophomore)
Rhodes competed in a wide variety of events as a sophomore, setting collegiate bests in the 50 free (26.04), 200 free (2:00.95), 200 back (2:19.35), 200 fly (2:06.88) and a then-career-best 58.58 in the 100 fly. She earned three top-five finishes, including a fifth-place showing at the Mizzou Invite in the 200 fly. At the Hawkeye Invite, Rhodes competed in the 200 fly, where she finished 15th after setting her career best in the prelims. Also at the Mizzou Invite, Rhodes finished eighth in the 100 fly with her season-best time. Out of the pool, Rhodes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters. She was also chosen to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for the second consecutive year.

2017-18 (Freshman)
Rhodes made her Husker debut in 2017-18, competing in eight events as a freshman. She swam to three personal bests, including two at the 2018 Big Ten Championships. At the conference meet, Rhodes notched her best finish (48th) in the 200 fly, while also setting a then-career best in the 100 fly (59.40) and in the 200 IM (2:12.32). Her third personal best came at the 2017 Mizzou Invite after racing to a time of 2:10.02 in the 200 fly. Rhodes also starred in the classroom, earning spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2017-18. She earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Previous
Rhodes swam for Oakwood High School in Ohio under Coach Jen Jervis (2014) and Trevor Tilly (2015-16). Rhodes aided in Oakwood’s back-to-back SouthWest Ohio District Championship victory in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, Oakwood earned a runner-up finish. In 2014, she earned spots on Southwestern Buckeye League first and second team. Rhodes was a finalist at the Ohio High School Swimming Championships for three consecutive years. She was named the Principal Scholar-Athlete, made the honor roll and graduated with honors. Rhodes also competed for Coach Kevin Weldon and the Dayton Raider Swim Club. Rhodes aided the team in earning a Silver Medal Team award as well as being a national team member. She was a club teammate of 2020-21 Husker junior Maggie Berning with the Dayton Raiders.

Personal 
The daughter of Terri and Dusty Rhodes, Mira was born July 20, 1998, in Oakwood, Ohio. She has one sister, Annie, and two brothers, Micah and Taylor. A political science major, Mira earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2021. A Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2021, Rhodes was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten choice. She was an eight-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. She was a three-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She chose Nebraska over Denison University, Wyoming, Colorado State and Kansas.
