2020-21 (Senior)
One of nine seniors in a talented and deep class for the Huskers in 2020-21, Gabby Baratta was one of Nebraska's top swimmers in the breaststroke events. Baratta finished 27th (2:18.29) in the prelims of the 200 breast at the Big Ten Swimming Championships in Minneapolis (Feb. 27). She added a 38th-place finish (1:05.48) in the 100 breast (Feb. 26), while also competing in the 50 free at the conference meet.

During the abbreviated 2021 regular season, Baratta produced a pair of top-five finishes, including a fourth-place showing in the 200 breast at Iowa (Jan. 16). She added a fifth-place finish in the 100 breast against the Hawkeyes.

2019-20 (Junior)
Baratta continued to contribute for the Huskers as a junior. She swam to a career-best time of 2:18.02 in the 200-yard breaststroke at the Big Ten Championships, while also competing in the 50 freestyle at the conference meet. During the season, Baratta produced four top-five individual finishes, including a fourth-place showing in the 100 breast against Omaha. She swam to a season-best 1:05.94 at the Mizzou Invitational. In the classroom, Baratta was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.

2018-19 (Sophomore)
Baratta claimed three top-five finishes, including a pair of victories in the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the Last Chance Meet after racing to a then-career best in the 200 breast prelims (2:18.10). At the 2018 Hawkeye Invite, the New Jersey native took 11th in the 200 breast and 15th in the 100 breast. Baratta earned fourth place against Rutgers in the 200 breaststroke. The three-time letterwinner earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters. Baratta is a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

2017-18 (Freshman)
Baratta concluded her debut season with one top-five finish, including a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in Nebraska’s dual victory over Northern Iowa. Baratta set three career bests, including two at the Mizzou Invite. She competed in the 100 breast (1:05.65) and 200 breast (2:19.25). Her third career best came in the 200 IM (2:14.03) against Kansas. Baratta added depth to the 200-yard medley relay, with her fastest relay time at 1:46.45 (Jessica Pentlarge, Baratta, Lindsey Stalheim, Clara Walstad) at the Mizzou Invite. The letterwinner also started strong in the classroom, earning spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2017-18. She was also a member of the 2018 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Previous
Baratta came to Nebraska after earning All-County and Scholastic All-America honors all four years of her high school career. Baratta aided the Northern Valley Regional High School team to back-to-back state championships earning fifth (2016) and sixth place (2017). Baratta recorded a 2:16.60 in the 200 breaststroke and a 1:04.70 in the 100 breaststroke. While competing for the Scarlet Aquatics, Baratta set the team record in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke.

Personal 
The daughter of Eva and Lorenzo Baratta, Gabby was born May 12,1999, in Emerson, N.J. She has one brother, John Carlo. An English major, Gabby earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2021. A Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2020, Baratta is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten choice. She is an eight-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. She was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2018 and 2019.
