Nebraska Battles to 0-0 Draw Against No. 20 Wisconsin

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska soccer finished in a 0-0 draw against No. 20 Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon at Barbara Hibner Stadium in Big Ten soccer action.

The Huskers moved to 3-3-6 and 1-2-3 in Big Ten play with the draw, while the Badgers moved to 7-2-3 and 3-1-2 in league contests.

Avery Gillahan started at goalkeeper for the Big Red, registering her fourth shutout of the season and finishing with six saves. Ava Makovicka, Nathalie Lewis, and Carson Bohonek all tallied a shot on goal for Nebraska to lead the offensive effort.

Abby Ballek and Jane Rogers led Wisconsin with five shots and a pair of shots on goal. Overall, the Badgers held a strong advantage in shots (21-10) and shots on goal (6-3). Drew Stover logged the shutout at goalie for the Badgers and finished with three saves.

Nebraska now has allowed two goals or fewer in all but one match this season and has tallied five shutouts.

Nebraska heads east for a pair of matches at Maryland (Oct. 8) and Rutgers (Oct. 11) to continue Big Ten play. Both matches will stream on Big Ten Plus.
