PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Nebraska soccer secured its fourth straight clean sheet at Rutgers on Sunday afternoon, battling wind and rain to finish in a 0-0 draw against the Scarlet Knights at Yurcak Field.
Nebraska (3-3-8, 1-2-5 Big Ten) picked up its eighth draw of the season and fifth in Big Ten play. The Huskers have shut out their last four opponents and have not allowed a goal since Sept. 27 at No. 2 Michigan State. Rutgers moved to 4-5-4 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play with the draw.
Senior Avery Gillahan recorded four saves and her fifth shutout of the season. Offensively, five different Huskers recorded shots on goal. Carson Bohonek and Nathalie Lewis led the Big Red with two shots.
Rutgers held a slim advantage in shots (11-8), but the Huskers finished with more shots on goal (5-4) and corners (5-4). Olivia Bodmer made five saves for Rutgers to record the shutout.
Nebraska begins a three-match homestand on Sunday, Oct. 18, against Illinois. Kickoff from Barbara Hibner Stadium is set for 1:05 p.m. (CT) on B1G+.
