Sandfort, Frager to Represent Huskers at Big Ten Media Day

Pryce Sandfort and Braden Frager will join Head Coach Fred Hoiberg in Chicago next week for Big Ten Basketball Media Days Presented by TIAA.

The men will take center stage on Oct. 8, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., as all 18 programs will be featured that day.  The Big Ten Network will provide live coverage beginning at 11 a.m. (central)

Sandfort leads a potent Husker attack, as the 6-foot-7 wing averaged 18.1 points on nearly 48 percent shooting and 4.9 rebounds per game last season. Sandfort led the Big Ten and ranked fourth nationally in 3-pointers per game (3.7) while shooting 41.6 percent from beyond the arc in helping Nebraska to a 28-7 record. Sandfort totaled 15 games of at least 20 points, including a trio of 30-point outbursts, all coming in Big Ten action. He was one of the breakout stars of Nebraska’s postseason run, averaging 21.0 points per game on 57 percent shooting, including 25 points in the Sweet 16.

Frager returns after earning Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year in 2026. The 6-foot-7 junior from Lincoln averaged 11.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the field. Frager totaled 20 double-figure efforts last season, including six games of at least 20 points. He totaled four of his six 20-point efforts in conference play.  Frager shined during the Huskers’ run to the Sweet 16, averaging 14.7 ppg and providing the Huskers’ signature moment of the postseason with his go-ahead basket with 2.2 seconds remaining in NU’s win over Vanderbilt in the second round.
