Hannah Kono, Lauren Thiele and Ailis Tribolet were named Nebraska’s Big Ten Golfers to Watch for the 2026-27 season, the conference announced Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Kono, a senior from Enkoping, Sweden, produced three top-10 finishes on the course for the Huskers in 2025-26, while posting a 73.13 stroke average over 31 rounds.
Thiele, a graduate student from Wahoo, Neb., posted a 73.94 stroke average over 18 rounds a year ago. Thiele was also named the Nebraska Women’s Amateur of the Year in 2025.
Tribolet was a significant contributor in her first season as a Husker in 2025-26. The freshman from Chandler, Ariz., posted a 73.81 stroke average over 26 rounds. She closed the year with five top-25 showings, including a tie for sixth at the Westbrook Spring Invitational (Feb. 22-23), where she fired a career-best 207 (-9) and a career-low 67 (-5) in the first round of the event.
Kono, Thiele, Tribolet and the rest of the Huskers will be back in action at the Connell Resources Ram Classic (Sept. 21-22) in Fort Collins, Colo., with rounds starting at 9 a.m. (CT).
This spring, the Big Ten Women’s Golf Championship will take place at the Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, Pa. (April 23-25), while the 2027 NCAA Golf Championship will be held for the fourth consecutive year at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
