Former Husker Joins Nebraska Golf Programs as Director of Operations

Former Husker golfer Josh Reinertson has joined the Nebraska men's and women's golf programs as director of operations, the teams announced on Monday.

“Breanne (Hall) and I are really looking forward to having Josh in Lincoln to help with the operations of our men’s and women’s teams," Nebraska Head Coach Judd Cornell said. "He was male student-athlete of the year finalist as a Husker, and he will be a tireless worker for our teams.”

Reinertson earned four varsity letters as a member the Husker men's golf program from 2012 to 2015, after redshirting in his first season with the Big Red in 2010-11. The Nebraska Class C state champion as a freshman at Gibbon High School in 2007, Reinertson was the Nebraska Junior Amateur of the Year and the Nebraska Junior Match Play champion in 2008.

He played in every tournament for the Huskers as a senior in 2015, posting a 75.84 stroke average over 32 rounds with a pair of top-20 individual finishes. Reinertson produced a 73.85 stroke average over 13 spring rounds as a junior in 2014, including a career-best tie for fifth at the Oak Hill Intercollegiate. He added a tie for 16th at the Hawkeye Invitational before representing the Huskers at the 2014 Big Ten Championship.

A four-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Reinertson was also Nebraska's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient for men's golf in 2014. An eight-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and a two-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll selection, Reinertson was also the recipient of the Dick Spangler Golf Scholarship.

Following his graduation from Nebraska, Josh spent eight years caddying for his younger brother, professional golfer Rylee Reinertson. His duties included reaching out to investors, developing a network of contacts, budgeting and travel expenses, assisting in development of on-course strategy and course mapping. Josh's older brother, Jordan, was also a four-year letterwinner on the course for the Huskers from 2010 to 2013.
