LINCOLN, Neb. - The Nebraska soccer team opened its 2026 home slate with a 1-1 draw against the South Dakota Coyotes on Sunday afternoon at Barbara Hibner Stadium.
With the draw, both teams moved to 1-0-1 in 2026. Despite Nebraska holding an advantage in shots (25-9) and shots on goal (9-2), Kinsley Pesicka's goal in the 41st minute was enough for the draw.
Emma Donnelly scored for the Big Red, notching the first goal of her career in the 82nd minute. Avery Gillahan started in the net for Nebraska, picking up a pair of saves.
Ava Makovicka, Sadie Sant, and Reese Snowden each recorded a pair of shots on goal for the Big Red.
