The Nebraska softball team picked up its third addition from the transfer portal, as 2025 MAC Freshman of the Year Samantha Bolding announced her commitment to Nebraska on Friday.
Bolding will be a junior for the Huskers, and she spent the first two years of her career at Toledo, where she was on the All-MAC second team in her debut season.
“Sammie adds a powerful bat to our team, as she belted 13 home runs and 10 doubles last season,” Head Coach Rhonda Revelle said. “She is an athletic, versatile defensive player who also packs a punch offensively. We are ecstatic Sammie chose Nebraska, as she will be an important piece of the puzzle in our success in 2027.”
Last season, Bolding logged a .354 batting average with 39 runs scored and 52 hits while starting 47 games. She added 35 RBI with 13 home runs and 10 doubles. She slugged at .687 and had an on-base percentage of .463 for an OPS of 1.150.
In 2025, Bolding went 46-for-143 to total a .322 batting average. She scored 31 runs and drove in 38 on 46 hits. Bolding registered 13 home runs and eight doubles for a .650 slugging percentage.
Bolding was a CSC Academic All-District and earned a spot on the Academic All-MAC team.
