Talented Two-Way Star Faith Aragon Transfers to Nebraska

The Nebraska softball team added one of the nation’s top two-way players to its 2027 roster on Saturday, June 13, when Faith Aragon announced her transfer to Nebraska.

Aragon comes to Nebraska with extensive experience, having played in 126 games over her three seasons at UTEP (2024) and New Mexico State (2025-26). In the circle, the left-hander is 45-28 in her career with one save, seven shutouts and a 3.30 ERA across 454.0 innings. At the plate, Aragon boasts a .323 career batting average with 16 doubles, nine home runs and 32 RBIs.

Named the nation’s No. 5 two-way player in May of 2026 by Softball America, Aragon is coming off the best season of her career. She made 37 appearances in the circle with 23 starts for New Mexico State in 2026, compiling a 21-10 record with a 2.62 ERA and a school-record 244 strikeouts in 195.1 innings. Offensively, Aragon hit .369 with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 26 RBIs while posting a 1.005 OPS.

Aragon ranked ninth nationally in strikeouts in 2026 and was 16th in innings pitched, 19th in wins and 20th in complete games (18). Aragon is one of only five returning pitchers in 2027 who had more than 20 wins and more than 200 strikeouts in 2026. The other four pitchers in that group were All-Americans last season, including Aragon’s new Husker teammate Alexis Jensen.

A native of Carslbad, New Mexico, Aragon was a first-team All-Conference USA selection in 2026 and was a second-team NFCA all-region honoree in both 2025 and 2026.

“Faith is a fierce competitor that is ready to step into this program and make an immediate impact,” Head Coach Rhonda Revelle said. “A two-way player, Faith has excelled on both sides of the ball. We are ecstatic that Faith has joined the Red Team. Nebraska Softball got better today with the addition of Faith Aragon.”

Aragon’s addition gives Nebraska’s pitching staff a big boost for next season. Both Aragon and Jensen ranked in the top 20 nationally last season in victories and strikeouts. Together, the duo combined for 46 wins and 467 strikeouts last season.
