Nebraska track and field sophomore Dyson Wicker was named the Big Ten Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Championships on Wednesday. It marks the first time Wicker has earned Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championship honors.

A native of Heath, Texas, Wicker captured his second career Big Ten pole vault title at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships last week, clearing 5.72m (18-9 ¼).

Wicker swept the Big Ten pole vault titles this season as he won the indoor title with a school record mark of 5.79m (19-0).

Donna Douglas was the women’s sportsmanship honoree for Nebraska and Michael Buchanan earned the award on the men’s side.
