Stubbs, Lamberts Earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week Honors

Nebraska track and field’s Taysha Stubbs and Hencu Lamberts were announced as Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Wednesday by the conference office.

Stubbs, native of Nassau, Bahamas, secured the Women’s Freshman of the Week honor after claiming second in the javelin invite at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational last weekend, throwing 56.34m (184-10) to move into fourth in school history. 

South African, Lamberts, garnered the award on the men’s side after winning the men’s shot put title at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational and throwing a personal best, 19.23m (63-1 ¼).

Up next, Nebraska will host the Husker Spring Kickoff at the Nebraska Outdoor Track in Lincoln on Friday, April 3.
