The Nebraska men’s tennis team opens up its 2026 spring season at home on Saturday, Jan. 17 in a doubleheader vs. Omaha. NU will take on the Mavericks at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. (CT) at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center to begin their spring slate. Admission to both matches - and all home matches - is free.
In the fall season, Nebraska competed at five tournaments and collected 31 wins between doubles and singles. Redshirt sophomore Colson Wells was the winningest Husker in singles going 5-3 with notable wins over two Big Ten opponents. Junior Henry Lamchinniah and senior Leo Linquet battled to a 4-3 record and three of their four wins were against Big Ten opponents. Linquet was selected for the Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch List which was announced at the beginning of January.
The Huskers are coming off a 15-10 season, going 8-5 in Big Ten play, the most conference wins in a single season and earning their third-ever berth to the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska concluded its historic season ranked No. 39 in the ITA final team rankings, the Huskers' highest final ranking ever.

History: 36-10 NU leads; Since the first meeting in 1952, Nebraska has won seven of the last nine matches.
The Mavericks are coming off a 10-12 season with a loss to No. 2 seed North Dakota in the Summit League Tennis Championship. The Mavs return five of their nine players from last season and welcome in two freshmen, both from Minnesota. Omaha came in second in the 2026 Summit League preseason poll. Graduate student and San Diego State transfer Liam Spiers was selected as Omaha's preseason athlete to watch.
The doubleheader will be hosted at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center, where parking and admission are free. Concessions will be available, and no outside food and drink is allowed.
