Huskers Set For 2025-26 Home Opener

Lincoln- The No. 2 Nebraska wrestling team will open 2025-26 dual competition on Friday, Nov. 7 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center against No. 23 Army West Point. The dual will begin at 6 p.m. (CT) with tickets available to purchase at huskers.com/tickets and streaming available on Big Ten Plus.

2025-26 schedule shirts will be given away to fans in attendance while supplies last. Nebraska wrestling will be honoring alumni including Jordan Burroughs, Bill Scherr and Tolly Thompson before the match along with other attending alumni. The team will also participate in a tunnel walk before the dual begins with a special guest, Terence “Bud” Crawford in attendance.   

Friday’s dual will mark Nebraska’s first home match against Army West Point and the third meeting all-time. The Huskers have six returning All-Americans and NCAA qualifiers (Jacob Van Dee, Brock Hardy, Antrell Taylor, Christopher Minto, Silas Allred and Camden McDanel) with transfer AJ Ferrari adding a seventh All-American and NCAA qualifier and Chance Lamer adding an eighth qualifier. 

History
The Huskers are undefeated in the all-time series with the Black Knights, defeating Army in two duals. Most recently, Nebraska topped Army West Point in November of 2022, 25-9, at a neutral site.  

Up Next
NU will travel to Tulsa, Okla. to compete in the National Duals on November 15-16. The first Husker match will start at 11 a.m. (CT) and will be streamed on FloWrestling.

165: No. 22 LJ Araujo vs. No. 16 Gunner Filipowicz (Army); The second highest ranked match up for the dual. Both wrestlers won their respective weight classes in different tournaments this past weekend.

HWT: No. 2 AJ Ferrari vs. No. 13 Brady Colbert (Army); First career collegiate battle between the wrestlers as this is Ferrari’s first matchup as a heavyweight and in the Nebraska singlet. Top ranked matchup for the dual.

Scouting Army West Point
No. 23 Army is 0-0 on the season as the Black Knights competed in the Princeton Open last weekend with four champions and 16 wrestlers on the podium. Army has six wrestlers ranked in Intermat’s top 25. Colbert and Filipowicz are the highest ranked and both 5-0 on the season. 

The Black Knights will face two other Big Ten opponents, Wisconsin and Indiana in December, before opening conference play against American in late January.
