Huskers Cap Off ITA Fall Regionals

The Nebraska women’s tennis team competed in the ITA Fall Regional Championships this weekend in Norman, Okla. All eight Huskers competed in the tournament. 

The Big Red went 7-5 in doubles play on the weekend. Yuzu Miyoshi along with Reya Lee Coe, and Emma Rizzetto and Conley Raidt made the quarterfinals after picking up multiple wins on Thursday and Friday. Maria Taranova and Natalia Trigosso also picked up a win in doubles.  

In singles play, NU went 14-9 overall and qualified two singles players in the round of 16 in Taranova and Raidt. Coe and Tiziana Rossini each picked up their first singles wins of the fall season. Rizzetto, Miyoshi, Trigosso and Catherine Gagnon all picked up wins as well for Nebraska. 

The Huskers were one of just two schools in the central region of the tournament to qualify two doubles teams in the quarterfinals, alongside Oklahoma. In addition, NU was one of four schools to have at least two players in the singles round of 16 in the region.   

Up next, the Huskers will travel to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the the TCU Jae Foundation Fall Open tournament from Oct. 24-26. Stay up to date with Nebraska Women’s Tennis by following social media channels (@HuskerWTennis) for fall updates and content.
