Match one in the position round saw the Huskers take on No. 25 Niagara, starting Brenna Hartzler, Karina Capron, Desiree Buchert, Haley Swindle and Jillian Martin. Stellar performances from Martin (277) and Capron (235) led the way as Swindle (209), Hartzler (198), and Buchert (170) rounded out the lineup. The Big Red would defeat Niagara 1,089-1,001, starting the day 1-0.

In match two, Nebraska faced off against Western Illinois, where a strong showing from every member of the Husker lineup propelled them to victory. Out of Hartzler (210), Capron (210), Buchert (235), Swindle (227) and Martin (236), every single one bowled above the 200 mark in a 1,108-903 trouncing, moving to 2-0 on the day.
