The Nebraska men’s tennis team has added a talented international player to its 2025-26 roster. Jeri Lassila, a Finland native, will join the Huskers this season, head coach Peter Kobelt announced on June 30.
Lassila was one of the top juniors in Europe, and Kobelt is excited to add him to the roster.
“We are really excited to have Jeri joining the team,” Kobelt said. “The goals that we’ve set for the program are ambitious, so it was important for us with this recruiting class we found players that think like us.
“Jeri is great at tennis but what stood out to us the most was his strong mentality. We’ll look for him to come in and be a great Husker student-athlete on the court, in the classroom and in the community.”
Lassila joins a Husker program that is coming off a record-breaking season. Nebraska finished with a top-40 national ranking for the first time in program history in 2024-25, while also setting a school record with eight Big Ten Conference victories.
