Husker Relays Earn Spots on All-Time List

Nebraska swimming and diving opened the Big Ten Championships on Wednesday evening in West Lafayette, Ind. with two podium finishes.

A relay team of Caitlin Cairns, JoJo Randby, Beatrix Tanko and Emily Haimes logged the second-fastest 200 medley relay time in school history. The group posted a 1:39.42 to place eighth in the first event of the meet.

In the 800 freestyle relay, Gena Jorgenson, Lexi Kucera, Giulia Marchi and Tanko posted a time of 7:11.31 for the third-fastest time in school history and another eighth-place finish.

After the first day of competition, the Huskers currently sit in seventh in the team standings with 88 points. Tomorrow’s session will begin at 9 a.m. (CT) with prelims and will continue at 4 p.m. (CT) with finals.
