The Scarlet team defeated the Cream team with a score of 97-81 on Friday night at the annual intrasquad meet. Maia Hall, Emily Haimes and Gena Jorgenson were key contributors for the Scarlet in the victory.
Haimes was a member of two winning relays, the 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay. The senior from England added a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle.
Hall logged a pair of first-place finishes for the Scarlet in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke. The junior from Whitby, England, was also part of the winning 200 medley relay team.
Sophomore Jorgenson was a key factor for the Scarlet team. She grabbed a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle and a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke. Jorgenson was also a part of the winning 200 freestyle relay to cap off the night.
Giulia Marchi, a sophomore from Asola, Italy, started the night off strong for the Scarlet team, with a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle. Marchi was also a part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team.
Senior Sarah Barton was a steady force for the Cream team. Barton took first-place in the 100 backstroke. Sophomore JoJo Randy added two second-place finishes of her own in the 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle.
Lexi Kucera earned a second-place finish for the Cream team in the 100 freestyle and a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle. She also competed in the 200 freestyle relay with the Cream team.
Beatrix Tanko had a strong showing for the Scarlet team in her NU debut. The freshman from Budapest, Hungary, was a member of the winning 200 medley relay to begin the night. She grabbed a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly and a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle.
Sophomore Kelsey Clairmont found success on the boards for the Cream team, taking first on the one-meter, while freshman Abby Baxter placed second.
The Huskers are set to hit the road to open the dual season. They will travel to Minneapolis, Minn. for a double-dual against Minnesota and South Dakota on Oct. 13 at 5 p.m.
