Huskers Geared Up for NCAA Championships

The nationally ranked Nebraska track and field teams will have 20 entries at the NCAA Outdoor Championships this Wednesday-Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

The Huskers' 20 entries at nationals are their most since 2014. The Husker men have 12 entries at the NCAA Championships, while the women have eight entries. The NU men enter the meet ranked No. 6 in the USTFCCCA Rankings, while the women are ranked No. 9, which is the best outdoor ranking for the Husker women since the poll began in 2008. It marks the first time both the NU men and women have been ranked in the top 10 at the same time in the outdoor poll.

Competition for the Huskers gets underway on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with Till Steinforth in the decathlon. The men's 4x100m relay and Darius Luff (110m hurdles) will run in preliminary heats on Wednesday at 6:32 p.m. and 7:32 p.m., respectively. And field events will include the javelin (Arthur Petersen and Dash Sirmon) at 5:40 p.m., long jump (Steinforth) at 8 p.m., and the shot put (Jonah Wilson and Maxwell Otterdahl) at 8:10 p.m.
