Loontjer Vaults Up NU All-Time Chart

Nebraska track and field senior Tyler Loontjer won the pole vault title at the Indiana Big Ten Invitational #1 on Friday in Bloomington, Indiana with the best mark of his life.

Loontjer cleared 17-10 1/2 (5.45m) to edge Indiana's Nathan Stone and 13 other Big Ten pole vaulters for the event title. Loontjer's personal best is the No. 4 mark in NU outdoor history and topped his previous personal best, set indoors in February, by four inches.

Loontjer was the only Husker to compete on the first day of the Indiana Big Ten Invitational #1. On Saturday, 17 more Huskers will begin their outdoor seasons.
