Huskers and Badgers Play to 0-0 Draw

 
The Nebraska women's soccer team (1-2-2) battled Wisconsin (3-2-1) through double overtime as the Huskers and the Badgers finished with a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon at Hibner Stadium. 
 
For the second consecutive game, the Huskers played overtime action as both teams were scoreless through 90 minutes of regulation.

Eleanor Dale almost added another goal to her resume this season, scoring in the sixth minute of the match, but the Huskers were called offsides and the goal would not count. 
 
In the second half, the Huskers continued their offensive pressure, adding five shots to Wisconsin's two. Grace Brown made a critical tackle in 65th minute to keep the game scoreless, eliminating a one-on-one situation between Wisconsin's Emma Jaskaniec and Makinzie Short in the penalty box. Reagan Raabe had one of the Huskers' best opportunities of the afternoon after blocking a clear by Badger goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer, but was unable to capitalize off the empty net situation. 
 
Nebraska continued to pepper the Badgers in overtime, adding two consecutive shots from Natalie Cook and Dakota Chan in the 99th minute, but neither were able to find the back of the net. 
 
Makinzie Short gabbed three saves for the Huskers on her way to her second shutout of her career. The Husker backline proved to be an unstoppable force as Grace Brown added another crucial save for Nebraska, clearing away a cross that skipped across the box and taking away the Badger's best opportunity of the second overtime period.
 
Nebraska had the last attacking chance of the afternoon with a free kick in Badger territory. Grace Brown put the ball into the box, but the Huskers were not able to get a head on the ball. 
 
Nebraska outshot the Badgers 11-5 in the tie and took five corners while allowing the Badgers just one on the day. 
 
The game marks the Huskers' second shutout of the season and third game decided in double overtime. 
 
The Huskers hit the road next to face Illinois on Thursday, March 18. The match will kick off at 3 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on BTN+.
