A total of eight Nebraska rifle student-athletes were recognized as Academic All-Big Ten honorees announced by the conference on Wednesday, including Kinga Aletto, Emily Cheramie, Elizabeth Ewert, Kayla Gadeken, Maddie Korthas, Elizabeth Lorentz, Samantha Peterson and Bailey Powell.
Gadeken, Korthas and Peterson earned the award for the third time, while Ewert is a two-time recipient. Aletto, Cheramie, Lorentz and Powell all received the honor for the first time.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must have been enrolled fulltime at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Kayla Gadeken was one of eight Nebraska rifle student-athletes to earn Academic All-Big Ten honors on Wednesday. Gadeken earned the award for the third time in her career.
