Boyer, Klousia Reach Semifinals at ITA Regionals

Tulsa, Okla. -- Senior Toby Boyer and junior Micah Klousia defeated Boriss Kamdem/Tom Thelwall-Jones (Tulsa), 8-5 on Saturday to advance to the doubles semifinals at the ITA Central Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Tulsa.

Boyer and Klousia will play the semis against No. 9 Vinny Gillespie/Barny Thorold (Drake) on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT. The championship match is set for 2 p.m. CT. 

In singles out-of-bracket consolation matches, Boyer overcame Emile Hudd (Oklahoma State), 6-3, 7-6 (2), while freshman William Gleason beat Orel Ovil (Wichita State), 6-1, 6-3. Later on the day, freshman Victor Moreno Lozano defeated Andrea Caligiana (Wichita State) in a three-set thriller, 6-7 (6), 6-4, 12-10. Senior Jon Meyer and juniors Alvaro Moreno Lozano and Chris Dean also competed in additional consolation matches.
