Soup Supper Gives Huskers, Fans Opportunity to Connect

The Nebraska softball program hosted its annual Soup Supper on Thursday night at the Champions Club, located across the street from the West side of Memorial Stadium. The event allowed more than 150 fans the opportunity to engage and get to know members of the 2018 Husker softball team and its coaches. Those in attendance heard from Head Coach Rhonda Revelle on the upcoming softball season and listened to student-athletes explain why "There is No Place Like Nebraska."

Many girls on the team thanked fans for their unending support and for "sticking together in all kinds of weather." Out-of-state student-athletes shared how Nebraska was their "home away from home" and that was due to the support from the fans. One athlete explained that Nebraska invested in her not just as an athlete, but as a student and as a person. Another called Nebraska the "middle of everywhere and the best kept secret." One more said, "It's impossible to explain to people how great Nebraska is. You just have to come here and experience it for yourself."

In addition, fans got to meet the 2018 Husker players and coaches, get autographs from the team and got the first chance to take home this year's poster and schedule cards.

The Huskers kick off the 2018 season on Feb. 9 at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
