TCU and Memphis Outlast Nebraska

Fort Worth, Texas – The Nebraska rifle team fell short to No. 2 TCU and No 18 Memphis in the first road match of the 2017-18 season. The Huskers notched a team score of 4,636.  TCU took the top spot with a score of 4,711 and Memphis brought in second with a score of 4,663.

Nebraska scored an overall score of 2,300 in smallbore. Samantha Peterson led the NU squad with a score of 579, assisted by Nina Radulovic’s score 575 and Emily Cheramie’s score of 574. Dacotah Faught (572) and Kayla Gadeken (571) rounded out the counted scores for Nebraska. Although not a counted scorer, junior Hannah Virga fired a career high score of 579.

In air rifle the Huskers notched an overall score of 2,336.  The effort was led by Nina Radulovic with a score of 589, followed by Dacotah Faught with a mark of 585. Samantha Peterson notched a 583. Hannah Virga and Maddie Korthas rounded out the squadded Huskers, firing a 579 and 569 respectively.

TCU led the field in smallbore with a score of 2,329.  The Horned Frogs’ leading shooter was Liz Marsh with a 586.  Mindy Miles paced all three teams in air rifle with a perfect score of 600 to help TCU to an air rifle score of 2,382.

Memphis brought in a smallbore score of 2,305. Levi Clark led the effort with a mark of 584. The Tigers notched an overall air rifle score of 2,358, led by Leighton Dempster’s team-high score of 590.

Nebraska will compete in a separate match against Memphis tomorrow.  Action will begin in the same location at 8 a.m.
