BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Nebraska cross country team competed at the Sam Bell Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana Saturday morning at the IU Championship Cross Country Course.
The men’s squad placed fourth overall with 89 points. The men’s team was led by junior Wyatt McGuire in second place with a time of 24:40.23. Redshirt Freshman Mark Freyhof followed in 14th with a time of 25:00.81, senior Austin Post placed 20th with a time of 25:12.54 and sophomore Jordan De Spong placed 23rd with a time of 25:27.67.
The women’s squad placed seventh overall with 201 points. The women’s team was led by senior Bonnie Smith in 39th place with a time of 22:08.71. Freshman Erika Freyhof finished 45th with a time of 22:19.22, senior Katrina Santiago finished 54th with a time of 22:36.11 and sophomore Judi Jones finished 56th with a time of 22:39.89.
The Huskers will continue to train in preparation for the Bradley Classic Oct. 13 in Peoria, Illinois.
