No. 14 Huskers Fall to Cougars, 1-0

Pullman, Wash. – The No. 14 Nebraska soccer team (4-1-0) suffered its first loss of the season by a 1-0 margin to Washington State at Lower Soccer Field on Friday night.

The Cougars, who improve to 2-1-1 with the win, scored in the 69th minute when Morgan Weaver found the back of the net off an assist from Kelsee Crenshaw. Washington State held a 15-7 advantage in shots, despite the Huskers edging the Cougars in shots on goal, 4-2.

Savanah Uveges took two shots to lead the NU offense, as five other Huskers each took one shot. Uveges, Sinclaire Miramontez, Caroline Buelt and Michaela Loebel each managed one shot on goal, but WSU goalkeeper Ella Dederick saved each of them. Nebraska goalkeeper Aubrei Corder earned one save in 90 minutes.

The Huskers take on Montana on Sunday at Lower Soccer Field, with kickoff set for noon (CT).
