A number of Nebraska track and field athletes competed at the Prairie Wolf Invitational at Nebraska Wesleyan's Woody Greeno Track and at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday.
Austin Post competed for the Huskers at the Drake Relays, placing ninth in the 10,000 meters in 30:23.62, a personal best that ranks ninth in NU history.
For the women at Nebraska Wesleyan, Catherine Mick won the women's pole vault with a clearance of 12-3 1/4 (3.74m). Competing unattached, Ashleigh Carr won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.81, while Morgan Dworak was second with a time of 1:04.24. Carr was also second in the 200 meters with a time of 26.31. Rachel Brush ran unattached in the 10,000 meters and clocked a time of 37:52.83.
On the men's side, Edgar Propst won the 800 meters with a time of 1:53.40. Jordan De Spong, competing unattached, won the 1,500 meters in 3:51.19. Givon Washington, also running unattached, won the 200 meters with a time of 22.47. Cam Holmes was third at 22.71. Three Husker redshirts ran the 10,000 meters and Mark Freyhof finished first in 31:21.42.
The rest of the Husker squad competes at the Red Raider Shootout on Friday in Lubbock, Texas.
