LINCOLN, Neb. - Prior to hosting the Mark Colligan Memorial on Saturday, members of the Nebraska track and field team took part in the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolf Invitational on Friday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track.
Payton Horacek led the way for the women with a first place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time 8.92. She was closely followed by teammate Raynesha Lewis who finished in second place with a time of 8.93.
Competing unattached, Virginia Hill claimed the 600-meter title with a time of 1:37.80.
On the men’s side, Givon Washington, competing unattached, finished in second place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.91. Washington also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.27. Also competing unattached, teammate Zach Legband ran a time of 50.21 in the 400m, good enough for fourth place on the day.
In the field, Cody Walton finished in second place in the long jump with a leap of 22-8 (6.91m). Brandon Benson finished in fifth place in the pole vault with a height of 15-3 (4.65m).
The Huskers return to the track tomorrow for the Mark Colligan Memorial. The meet begins at 11:30 a.m.
