Piscataway, N.J. – For the second consecutive game, the Nebraska soccer team (10-5-3, 4-3-3 Big Ten) played to a scoreless draw, this time against Rutgers at Yurcak Field on Saturday night.
The Huskers entered their penultimate regular-season match having tied two of their last four outings. The Scarlet Knights are 9-2-6 (4-1-5 Big Ten) following Saturday night’s draw.
NU goalkeeper Aubrei Corder, the reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Week, tied her career high saves in a game with seven against Rutgers. She collected her eighth shutout of the season, and hasn’t allowed in goal in over 310 minutes.
Senior Caroline Flynn led the Husker offense with five shots. Freshman Elyse Huber, who was making her first career start, managed two shots, while Courtney Claassen and Jaycie Johnson had one apiece. As a team, Nebraska was outshot, 17-9, by Rutgers, but held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Huskers return home for their regular season finale on Wednesday night against Iowa. The game, scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. (CT) at Hibner Stadium, will be streamed live on BTN Plus on BTN2Go.
