Huskers Ready for Notre Dame Invitational

South Bend, Ind. - The Nebraska cross country team continues to roll through its season at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind., on Friday, Sept. 30 at Notre Dame Golf Course. The first race is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT.

The Big Red men will look to bounce back from a second-place finish at the Woody Greeno/Dirksen Invitational at Pioneers Park a couple of weeks ago in hopes of claiming their second team title of the year. Senior Pat Letz led the men's squad at the Lincoln meet with a ninth-place finish and a time of 26:02.6, followed by senior Jacob Olson in 12th place (26:14.2) and junior Austin Post coming in at 30th (26:50.1). Under experienced leadership, the men's team will look to make a statement in a big way as they prepare for championship races just around the corner.

The Husker women are also looking to rally from a second-place feat they achieved at the Woody Greeno/Dirksen Invitational. The women's squad was led by a strong core that was composed of junior Katrina Santiago in ninth place (22:45.0), freshman Lillian Markusch in 10th (22:49.0), freshman Sarah Conlon in 11th (22:53.2) and junior Anna Peer in 15th (22:55.9). The women's team will look to capture their first team championship of the season on Friday under its mix of experienced leaders and young talent.
