Huskers Head to Missouri Invitational

The Nebraska women’s tennis team travels to the Missouri Invitational at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo., this weekend for the second invitational of its fall campaign. Admission is free throughout the weekend.

The Huskers will square off against student-athletes from Louisville, Memphis and Missouri in a non-dual format.

The Big Red will begin play by taking on Missouri in doubles action on Friday at 9 a.m. Nebraska's doubles teams will then face Memphis at 10 a.m., before closing the day with singles competition against the Louisville Cardinals at 1 p.m.

Last season, Husker returners Lisa Andersson and Mary Hanna both opened strong on the first day of the invitational, posting a 7-5 win over Louisville’s Oliva Boesing and Chole Willetts. Andersson and Hanna also teamed up for a doubles victory over Penn State at last year's event, while Vasanti Shinde was also part of a Husker doubles wins over the Nittany Lions at the 2015 Missouri Invitational.

This weekend's action will begin on Friday and continues with competitive matches through Sunday. Fans can stay up to date by following the Nebraska women’s tennis team on Twitter, @HuskersWTennis, or by following the team on Huskers.com.
