Nebraska track and field rising sophomore Cale Wagner is in fourth place in the decathlon after day one at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Wagner, a Seward, Neb., native, collected 4,031 points on the first day and is just 31 points out of third place. He finished his day with a personal-best time of 49.52 in the 400 meters to finish third in the event. He was second in the 100 meters (10.94) and long jump (23-11, 7.29m).
