Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska men's tennis team competed in Omaha Saturday evening, sweeping the Omaha Mavericks,7-0.
Competition started of strong for the Huskers as they won the doubles point. Dusty and Toby Boyer took on Colin Buckley and Ignace Warson where they earned a 6-3 over the Mavericks duo at the No. 1 position. At No. 2, Scott Elsass and Marc Hermann produced a 6-2 mark over their competition, Erik Anderson and Alex Woodward. Andrew Dzulynsky and Ford Zitsch made it a clean swep on the doubles court with a 6-3 win over Matt Dunn and Marko Minic.
In singles competition, Dzulynsky kicked off the sweep at No. 4, where he defeated Minic 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2, Herrmann won 6-3, 6-1 over Dunn. Zitsch earned a win over Anderson, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Following with another win at No. 3 singles, Toby Boyer defeated Alex Woodward, 6-1, 6-4. Dusty Boyer matched his brother with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Buckley at the No. 1 position. Wrapping up competition, Chris Schindler saw some playing time at No. 6 singles, beating Warson in a tight, 7-5, 7-5 match.
The Huskers will resume play next weekend in Iowa City where the squad will take on the Iowa on Friday, March 11 at 6 p.m.
