Lincoln- The Nebraska women's tennis team welcomes the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks and the Memphis Tigers to the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center this weekend for a pair of matches. Friday's match with Miami (Ohio) begins at 5 p.m., with Sunday's match against Memphis starting at 11:30 a.m. Admission to both matches is free.
The Huskers will look to build on their 7-1 record. Maggy Lehmicke, Mary Hanna, Katerina Matysova, Vasanti Shinde, Mackenna Maddox-Herr and Paula Del Cueto Castillo all advanced their records with wins last weekend in a 7-0 sweep of Colorado State.
Doubles pair Hanna and Shinde stand as the only Big Red doubles team with an undefeated record this spring. The two had dominated at the No. 2 spot, before earning a 6-2 win last Friday against Colorado State at No. 1 doubles.
Miami (Ohio) is currently 2-3 on the season following a close 4-3 win over Marshall. Memphis is 1-5 this season but has faced a tough schedule. The Tigers have lost five straight, with setbacks to No. 25 Mississippi, 45th-ranked Purdue, No. 60 California and 74th-ranked Washington State. Former Husker assistant Hayden Perez leads the Tigers to Lincoln.
