Colorado Springs, Colo. --- Five members of the Nebraska rifle team competed at the Winter Airgun Championships/2016 U.S. Olympic Air Rifle Team Trials at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., over the weekend. Rachel Martin, Jaycee Carter, Nina Radulovic, Hannah Virga and Rachel Yager will competed in the three-day event that began Dec. 4 and ended Dec. 6.
Martin finished with a three-day combined score of 1231.2, earning her 24th place in women’s air rifle and 18th place in junior women’s air rifle. Carter placed 25th in women’s air rifle and 19th in junior women’s air rifle, with a combined score of 1230.8. Virga ended with 1221.4, while Yager finished with 1195.4.
Radulovic had the top score for the Huskers with 1238.1, but did not place because she will compete for a spot on the Serbian Olympic Team.
The top-10 in each category advanced to the Olympic finals which will take place in June 2016.
