Huskers Garner Nation-Best 30 USTFCCCA Honors

NEW ORLEANS - The USTFCCCA announced its All-Academic Individual and Team Awards on Friday. The Nebraska men and women combined for 30 total individual awards to lead the nation. 

The Husker men led all men's teams with 15 honorees, marking the second consecutive year atop the list. The Husker women also earned 15 awards, tied for second most.

The Big Ten topped the list of conferences with 166 combined honorees. 

Additionally, both the Husker men's and women's teams received the team award with at least a 3.0 cumulative team GPA. The Husker women posted a 3.30 GPA and the men recorded a 3.17 GPA.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

  • For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org
  • For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
