Game Notes
Nebraska posted a run-rule victory for the 13th time this season...the Huskers scored double-digit runs for the 17th time...NU scored all 11 of its runs with two outs...Alicia Armstrong and Steph Pasquale hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the first inning, marking the first time this season the Huskers have hit back-to-back homers.

Lincoln - The Nebraska softball team pounded out 13 hits in an 11-1 five-inning victory over Creighton Wednesday night at Bowlin Stadium.

The Huskers scored all 11 of their runs and collected 10 of their 13 hits with two outs, while scoring double-digit runs for the 17th time this season. Nebraska improved to 26-19 on the season with its 13th run-rule win of the season.

NU jumped out to a 2-0 lead with two outs in the bottom of the first inning on back-to-back homers from junior Alicia Armstrong and senior Steph Pasquale.

Nebraska then exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the second fueled by six consecutive hits. Freshman Kaylan Jablonski began the big inning with a one-out single. Jablonski was still on first with two outs before classmate Laura Barrow produced an RBI double. Junior Kiki Stokes then lined a two-run homer to right to push the Husker lead to 5-0. Sophomore MJ Knighten kept the two-out rally going with a single and a stolen base, before Armstrong stepped up to the plate. Armstrong singled to left to score Knighten and Armstrong headed for second where an errant throw also allowed Armstrong to score and give the Huskers a 7-0 advantage. Pasquale then reached on an infield single before sophomore Cassie McClure doubled. A Creighton error then allowed the final two runs of the inning to score as the Huskers stretched their lead to 9-2.

Creighton got a run back with an unearned run in the top of the third before Nebraska kept up its two-out scoring in the bottom of the frame. Barrow singled and was on first base with two outs before Knighten added a single. Armstrong then beat out an infield single to score Barrow. A third Bluejay error allowed another run to score as Nebraska took an 11-1 lead.

That was more than enough support for Jablonski, who picked up the first non-conference victory of her career. In a complete-game effort, Jablonski (4-5) did not allow an earned run while firing a two-hitter and striking out four.

Offensively, Armstrong, Barrow, Knighten and Pasquale all produced multi-hit efforts for the Big Red. Armstrong was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, while Pasquale also homered as part of a 2-for-3 day. Barrow finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and her 10th double of the season, while Knighten went 2-for-3.

Sydnee Eck (9-7) took the loss for the Creighton, which fell to 20-15 on the season.

Nebraska hits the road this weekend for a three-game series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Wisconsin.
