No. 58 Huskers Compete in Wichita

Wichita Kan. - The Nebraska men's tennis team competed on Sunday against the Wichita State Shockers where they suffered a loss 6-1 with Andrew Dzulynsky snagging a point for the team. The No. 58 Huskers are looking forward to the upcoming weekend where the team will host a double-header at the Lincoln Racquet Club. In the past week, NU made another jump in the ITA rankings moving from No. 61 to 58 with a 5-5 mark for the season. 

Beginning competition with doubles, Dusty Boyer and Linus Erhart took on the No. 1 position where they competed against No. 24 Tomislav Gregurovic and Tin Ostojic suffering a loss 6-4. At No. 2 Scott Elsass and Bradford Zitsch took on Ilija Cuic and Guillermo de Vilchez in tense match going into a tie breaker resulting in a loss 7-6(5). Marc Herrmann and Andrew Dzulynsky completed No. 3 against Jocelyn Devilliers and Miroslav Herzan resluting in a loss 6-3. 

In singles play Dusty Boyer and No. 61 Tin Ostijic battled it out in two sets, going 6-3 in the first giving Ostijic the upper hand, finishing the second 6-4 resulting in a loss for Boyer at No. 1. 

At No. 2, Marc Herrmann and Tomislav Gregurovic competed in a close match begining the first set 6-2 follwed by 5-7 and finishing 7-6 in a loss.

Linus Erhart competed against Ilija Cuic at No. 3 where Cuic won the first set 7-5 taking the advantage and finished the match 6-3. 

Chris Hobgarski took on Guillermo de Vilchez at No. 4 where they finished 6-1, 7-5 giving the Shockers a 5-0 lead. 

At No. 5, Andrew Dzulynsky saw the first win of the day. Competing against Miroslav Herzan, the two finished a first close set 7-6 giving Dzulynsky the advantage and completing his second set 6-2, giving the Huskers their first point. 

Vasileios Stavropoulos competed against the Shocker's Jocelyn Devilliers at No. 6 going 6-1, 7-6 and finishing the day at 6-1 as a team.
